NASHUA, N.H. — Police said there were multiple gunshot victims at a Nashua country club, with one suspect in custody and another at large.

The shooting occurred at the club late in the evening, according to the Nashua Police Department. Officers responded after witnesses reported shots fired around 8:41 p.m., and the scene was secured as investigators gathered evidence. Several victims were transported to area hospitals; officials did not immediately release their conditions.

Firearms were recovered at the scene, and investigators said they are reviewing surveillance video and interviewing witnesses to reconstruct the sequence of events. The motive for the shooting remained unclear, and it was not known how the two suspects were connected to the club or to the victims.

One suspect was taken into custody at or near the scene, while the second suspect remained at large as investigators continued interviews and canvassing in the surrounding area. Police asked residents in nearby neighborhoods to avoid the area and to report any information to authorities.

Authorities said investigators are reviewing surveillance video from the club and nearby businesses and are speaking with staff and members who were present. Officials did not provide a timeline for when the investigation would conclude, noting that the scene remained active as officers collected evidence and followed leads.

The incident comes amid ongoing concerns about gun violence and public safety. It also intersects with national debates on firearm safety, with lawmakers at federal and state levels considering proposals on background checks, red-flag laws, and security funding for public spaces.
