Gunfire outside Sacramento ABC10 station; no injuries reported
Shooting occurs outside California news outlet as investigation begins; protest over network decisions relates to broader media dynamics as Nexstar moves to acquire Tegna.

Gunfire struck the ABC10 news station in Sacramento, California, on Friday afternoon as employees were inside the building, authorities said. Police responded to the station's complex around 1:30 p.m. after reports of a shooting, and officials said there were no injuries. A local reporter shared video on X showing at least three bullet holes in a window.
Investigators have not released a motive or any suspect information, and police did not immediately identify a person of interest.
According to The Sacramento Bee, there was a small protest outside the station on Thursday, with about 15 people gathered to protest Disney-owned ABC's decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel off-air for comments he made about slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk and his alleged assassin.
Nexstar Media Group said ABC10 is owned by Tegna, which Nexstar is in the process of acquiring for $6.2 billion, a deal the company says is pending regulatory approval.
FOX San Francisco reported that police planned extra patrols near ABC7 in San Francisco as a precaution in the wake of the shooting.
Authorities asked anyone with information to contact Sacramento police.
This incident comes as officials and lawmakers weigh gun violence and security concerns faced by media facilities.
