Newsom taunts Trump vodka revival as Trump brand signals comeback

California Gov. Gavin Newsom taunted President Donald Trump’s planned revival of Trump Vodka on Thursday by sharing what appeared to be an AI-generated image of a spoof bottle labeled Newsom Wine. Newsom posted the image on social media with the caption 'COMING SOON,' delivering a taunting jab as Trump’s dormant liquor brand appears poised to return to market. Eric Trump, the president’s son, also teased a revival this week, posting a 'coming soon' image of the bottle on Instagram.

Trump Vodka was first launched in 2005 as part of a wave of celebrity-branded spirits and disappeared from shelves in 2011 after sluggish sales. The revived version is described on its Facebook page as distilling and bottling in the United States, and its website promotes it as The Great American Spirit.

In a separate online post, Newsom, a frequent Trump critic who has lately mimicked the president online, mocked Trump's escalator moment at the United Nations in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
