A 15-year-old schoolgirl was raped in Poole Park in Dorset, and a 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape after traveling about 120 miles from his home in the Carlshalton area of south London. Dorset Police said the man is not local. Police received a report on Thursday that the girl had been raped by a man she had met earlier in the evening. Officers attended the scene and cordoned off an area near the boating lake at around 10 p.m.
A police spokesperson said a detailed investigation into the report is being carried out by detectives, with specialist officers supporting the victim. 'Officers are carrying out increased patrols in the area and we would encourage anyone with concerns to please speak with an officer,' the spokesperson said.
