Body found on Loch Lomond identified as missing man as police probe unexplained death
Graham Wright, 38, identified after remains found at Rubha Dubh near Firkin Point; investigation ongoing with divers, dog handlers and CCTV reviews

The body found on the shores of Loch Lomond has been identified by Police Scotland as Graham Wright, 38, who was reported missing on August 25 after last being seen five days earlier. The human remains were discovered at Rubha Dubh near Firkin Point on Saturday, September 13, and Wright’s death is being treated as unexplained. His family are being supported by specialist officers.
Wright, from Glasgow, was last seen on Cumberland Street in the Gorbals area. Police said there is a chance he was in the same area on Friday, September 5, at around 9:30 a.m. Detectives are continuing their investigation, with specialist divers and dog handlers involved in searches along the shore and in nearby water.
Investigators have mobilised multiple resources as part of the inquiry. A dedicated team of officers is carrying out door-to-door inquiries and reviewing all available CCTV footage in the area. The Loch Lomond shoreline is a busy spot for visitors and dog walkers, and police are asking anyone who was in the area between September 1 and September 13 to come forward with information, even if it seems minor. Authorities also want dashcam footage from vehicles on the A82, the main route around the loch, during the same period.
A substantial amount of resources have been dedicated to the investigation, and searches of the area will continue. Superintendent Mark Stirling said additional patrols would operate in the area as inquiries proceed. Wright’s family have been offered support from specially trained officers as detectives seek to determine how the remains came to be on the Loch Lomond shore.
