Bronx man fatally shot steps from his home; police seek suspect
Authorities say Amaury Carrion, 46, died after a shooting near his Longwood residence; investigators are seeking a suspect who fled on a bicycle after an argument was heard nearby.

A Bronx man was fatally shot on a sidewalk near his home after a witness reported hearing two men argue, police said. Amaury Carrion, 46, was found with three gunshot wounds—two to the abdomen and one to the chest—around 12:30 a.m. Saturday outside a home on Reverend James A Polite Avenue near East 164th Street in the Longwood neighborhood, authorities said. Carrion lived about five doors down from where he was shot and later died at Lincoln Hospital, police said.
Cops were blocking off the street as investigators processed the scene. White towels with blood stains and a New York Yankees baseball hat were seen on the ground at the shooting scene, where NYPD detectives had blocked off the road as they investigated.

Cops described the suspect as a man wearing a white or gray hoodie who left the scene on a bicycle heading northbound on Reverend James A Polite Avenue. There have been no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA) or submit tips online at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, or on X (formerly Twitter) @NYPDTips.
