Florida woman vanishes on cross-country road trip; eerie message found before disappearance
Investigation centers on possible cross-border disappearance; vehicle found abandoned near Potrero, California

San Diego County — A Florida woman is missing after a cross-country road trip that brought her near Potrero, California, close to the Mexican border. Ganna Kovrizhnykh, 38, who also uses the name Angel Volnaya, has not been heard from since July 5, and a friend reported her missing to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office on July 12.
Investigators say Kovrizhnykh left her mother an eerie final message that included a photograph of a letter instructing her to take possession of her personal assets along with GPS coordinates from Potrero.
One week later, her Jeep Grand Cherokee and camper trailer were found abandoned in Potrero. "We believe she was just kind of touring the country and she left her vehicle in Potrero and never came back to her vehicle," Sgt. Jacob Klepach told KNSD. "We don’t really have any belief one way or another at this point if there is foul play involved or if she just strictly voluntarily left."
One day before the eerie message to her mother, Kovrizhnykh posted a video to a Facebook page under the alias Angel Volnaya. The video featured her reading from the Bible, with the caption, "Two commandments. No one escape. Who kill will die forever." In another video posted on the same day, she appeared from a church and showed a bag of supplies including water, oil, a solar panel, batteries, a walkie talkie, and a gas mask. "I just left everything that I have," she said. "Time is very close. Prepare all the churches, they should be ready." "We are already at the last moment... this is only like three years and the anti-Christ will sit on his throne."
Kovrizhnykh is described as five-foot-five, 100 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes and distinctive tattoos. She may be wearing a wig and has several arm tattoos, according to the sheriff. Detectives believe she may have crossed into Mexico, possibly near Tecate. As of Tuesday, her whereabouts and status remained unknown, according to the sheriff's office. The San Diego County Sheriff's Office is urging anyone with information to contact NamUS, the sheriff's office or local authorities.
