Four arrested after images of Epstein, Trump and Prince Andrew projected onto Windsor Castle during US president's arrival

Four adults were arrested on suspicion of malicious communications after images of Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew and US President Donald Trump were projected onto Windsor Castle on the evening of Sept. 16, 2025, Thames Valley Police said.

Police described the incident as an unauthorised "public stunt" and said officers moved quickly to stop the projection. The video shown on the castle included several still images and clips featuring Epstein, who was convicted of multiple sex offences against children, alongside images of Prince Andrew and of President Trump over the years.

Chief Superintendent Felicity Parker said investigators were treating the incident seriously and that a thorough inquiry was under way. "We take any unauthorised activity around Windsor Castle extremely seriously," she said. "Our officers responded swiftly to stop the projection and four people have been arrested. We are conducting a thorough investigation with our partners into the circumstances surrounding this incident and will provide further updates when we are in a position to do so."

The projection occurred as President Trump arrived in Britain for a state visit. He landed at Stansted Airport on Air Force One and walked down the aircraft steps holding the hand of his wife, First Lady Melania Trump. British officials at the airport included the Viscount Hood, Lord-in-Waiting, who greeted the presidential party on behalf of King Charles. The president said being in Britain had "warmed" his heart, according to remarks made on arrival. The president's allies said he would be lenient toward Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer during the visit, following recent domestic political challenges for the prime minister.

Thames Valley Police said the arrests were made on suspicion of malicious communications, a charge that covers sending material intended to cause distress or anxiety. Officers did not immediately release the identities of the four adults arrested or provide further details on how the projection was carried out. The force said it was working with partners to establish the full circumstances.

Windsor Castle, a royal residence and frequent site of state events and ceremonies, is subject to heightened security. Authorities said the unauthorised projection was an isolated incident and that there was no immediate evidence of wider disruption linked to the state visit.

The police inquiry remains ongoing, and Thames Valley Police said it would provide updates when appropriate.
