Human remains at Loch Lomond identified as missing Glasgow man
Police say the body found near Firkin Point is 38-year-old Graham Wright; death is being treated as unexplained as inquiries continue

Human remains found on the shore of Loch Lomond at the weekend have been identified as a man who had been reported missing from Glasgow, Police Scotland said.
Officers were called to Rubha Dubh, near Firkin Point, at about 12:40 GMT on Saturday after a member of the public made the discovery. The remains have been identified as Graham Wright, 38, who was reported missing on 25 August.
Police said Mr Wright was last seen at about 12:00 on 20 August on Cumberland Street in the Gorbals area of Glasgow and may also have been in the same area on 5 September at about 09:30. His death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing.
Detective Superintendent Peter Sharp said specialist resources have been deployed to establish how the remains came to be on the shore. "Our thoughts are with Graham's family and friends at this extremely difficult time and they are being supported by specialist officers," he said. "It is vital we get answers for them and extensive inquiries are ongoing to establish how his remains came to be on the shore of Loch Lomond."
Police said the probe has involved police dogs, air support and the dive and marine unit. Officers also asked anyone who was staying in the area or who may have witnessed activity near Firkin Point to come forward. The detective specifically appealed for information from anyone driving on the A82 between 1 and 13 September and from anyone who was onboard a boat, or any other vessel, or using the water near Firkin Point during that period.
"Please be reassured we are doing everything we can to get answers and there will be a large police presence as these inquiries continue," Det Supt Sharp added. Searches of the area will continue alongside door-to-door inquiries, police said.
Superintendent Mark Stirling expressed sympathy for Mr Wright's relatives and friends and thanked the local community for assistance so far. "I would like to extend my sympathies to Graham's family and friends as they try to come to terms with their loss," he said. "We understand the significant impact this will have on the local community and I would like to thank everyone for their help so far."
Anyone with information has been asked to contact Police Scotland. The force said any piece of information, no matter how small, could prove vital to establishing the circumstances of Mr Wright's death.
