Knife-wielding youth attack on Acre Lane in Brixton leaves two 16-year-olds injured, police say
Video captured by bystanders shows a knife-wielding youth confronting a group on Acre Lane; police have not yet arrested anyone as inquiries continue.

A knife-wielding youth attacked a group of teenagers on Acre Lane in Brixton, London, on Sept. 23, prompting a police response and a broader examination of the incident. Two 16-year-olds were injured; one was taken to hospital with a stab wound described by authorities as not life-threatening or life-changing, while the other sustained a minor injury. Police were called to the scene at 17:01 hours that day, and inquiries continue with no arrests reported.
Footage circulating on social media, including TikTok, shows the moment a male wearing navy jogging bottoms and a hoodie charged toward several teenagers, seemingly striking one person within seconds. The victim appears to lose his balance and fall, after which the attacker targets another member of the group. The person filming, described as a passenger in a nearby car, is heard shouting, "look, he's getting stabbed" before emitting a louder scream as the melee continues. A bystander speaking to Newsflare said a group of young males were seen running into the street armed with knives, clashing in front of traffic and even hitting the car the filmer was in, leaving a dent. Although the filmer claimed several youths carried knives, police have not confirmed how many weapons were involved and only one clearly appears to be in the footage.
The same footage shows the knife-wielding male fleeing the scene by leaping onto the back of a bike being ridden by someone else.
The two 16-year-olds injured in the altercation were identified by police as victims of the attack; one was transported to hospital with a stab wound and remains in stable condition, while the other sustained a minor injury and did not require further medical treatment beyond initial care. The Met Police, in a statement, said: "Two teenage boys, both aged 16, sustained injuries. One was taken to hospital with a stab wound, his condition was deemed not life-threatening or life-changing. The other suffered a minor injury and did not require further medical treatment. No arrests have been made and enquiries continue."
Investigators have urged anyone with information or footage from Acre Lane to come forward to assist with their inquiries. Brixton residents and business owners have expressed concern about street violence, while authorities underscore the importance of timely reporting to help identify perpetrators and prevent further harm.
