The Metropolitan Police said they were called at 17:01 on Tuesday, 23 September, to reports of an altercation involving a knife on Acre Lane in Brixton. Two teenage boys, both 16, sustained injuries; one was taken to hospital with a stab wound not deemed life-threatening or life-changing, and the other suffered a minor injury that did not require further medical treatment. No arrests had been made, and inquiries continue.

The incident was captured on video and subsequently shared online, showing a youth dressed in navy jogging bottoms and a hoodie appearing to stab or strike at several teenagers as bystanders screamed. The footage shows the victim losing his balance and falling to the ground before the attacker moves on to another member of the group. The filmer, who was in a nearby car, can be heard shouting, "look, he's getting stabbed" before the scene escalates. Newsflare quoted the bystander describing a group of young males armed with knives clashing in front of traffic and even denting the car in which the filmer was riding. The video makes clear that only one person is clearly seen with a weapon.

Further footage shows the knife-wielding male fleeing the scene by leaping onto the back of a bike being ridden by someone else. Police have said there have been no arrests and that inquiries continue. The Brixton incident occurred on Acre Lane as officers reviewed statements from witnesses and security footage to establish a timeline and identify those involved.

Authorities emphasized that any information from the public could assist the investigation. Residents in the area described a tense scene as dusk settled, but investigators cautioned that details are still being verified and that the overall circumstances of the altercation remain under review. The Met Police did not provide additional details about potential motives or the number of individuals involved beyond the two 16-year-old victims. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police to aid inquiries.
