A man died after falling from a hot air balloon in West Sussex on Friday, with emergency services called to the scene around 09:20 BST. The body was located in a field at about 13:50, Sussex Police said.

The man has not yet been formally identified. He was part of a group traveling aboard the balloon, which officials said was en route from Billingshurst to Dunsfold when the incident occurred.

Sussex Police said officers were investigating the death but that it was not being treated as suspicious. The force noted that officers were continuing to gather details as part of the inquiry and would provide updates when available.

The incident occurred at Newpound Common in Wisborough Green, a rural area to the south of Billingshurst. Investigators have not publicly disclosed any information about the weather conditions or equipment as part of the initial update, and no other injuries were reported.
