Man in critical condition after shooting at Birmingham Mango nightclub; three others injured
Arrests include a 32-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder; three women detained in Warwickshire in connection with the incident

A man is in a critical condition and three others were injured after a shooting at Mango nightclub on Bristol Street in Birmingham city centre early Saturday, police said. West Midlands Police reported that the critically injured man remained in hospital, while the other three—two men and a woman—were treated for less serious injuries. The shooting happened at around 3 a.m. on Saturday.
The incident occurred at Mango, which advertises late-night hours and attracts crowds on weekends. A 32-year-old man was arrested around 9:30 a.m. on suspicion of attempted murder. Three women in their 20s and 30s were also arrested in a car travelling on the M6 in Warwickshire in connection with the shooting. They are in custody and are being questioned on suspicion of violent disorder.
Video clips from social media showed a heavy emergency response on a busy road, with ambulances and police cars at the scene. The street was completely cordoned off for several hours, with investigators working to gather evidence, before it reopened to southbound traffic on Saturday afternoon. Police urged anyone who witnessed the incident or recorded footage to come forward, including dashcam footage.
Acting Chief Inspector Michael Clarke said: "This happened in a busy nightclub, on one of the main roads out of Birmingham city centre. Bristol Street was completely cordoned off by police for several hours, but reopened to southbound traffic on Saturday afternoon. It's vital that we hear from anybody who saw what happened or who may have captured it on dashcam as they went past. Our investigation is moving rapidly, and urgent inquiries have led to the arrests of three people. But we continue to investigate as we identify everyone involved. If you were in the club at the time and saw what happened, or recorded any footage from inside the venue, we need to hear from you urgently."
Authorities asked anyone with information to quote log 561 of September 20 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111. West Midlands Police and Mango nightclub officials were approached for comment.
