Miliband faces 'rank hypocrisy' claims over travel amid Net Zero push

Energy Secretary Ed Miliband faced accusations of rank hypocrisy after records showed his department logged 24 domestic flights in under a year, even as he presses a hard line on Net Zero policies that critics say burden struggling businesses. The revelations come as Miliband settles into a high-profile role amid ongoing leadership speculation within Labour and amid his public push to accelerate climate policies across government.

Flight logs obtained by The Mail on Sunday show ministers in Miliband's department used domestic air travel for 24 trips in less than 12 months, including a Bristol-to-Glasgow hop that could be accomplished for roughly £40 by rail. Miliband has long argued that domestic flights should be curbed, and has celebrated policies aimed at steering travel toward greener options. The disclosure has prompted political backlash, with opponents arguing that leaders cannot preach reduced air travel while using jets themselves. Red Ed has previously said he would like to end domestic flights
