Murder investigation continues after death of 42-year-old man in Lisburn
Two people arrested and in custody as police appeal for information after man found with serious injuries at Wardsborough Road apartment

A murder investigation has entered its second day after a 42-year-old man died following the discovery of serious injuries at an apartment building on Wardsborough Road in Lisburn city centre.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Monday morning after a man was found with serious injuries inside the property. He was given medical treatment at the scene and was taken to hospital, where he later died. Police said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding his death.
A 38-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody. Detective Inspector Jill Angus said both people in custody were "assisting detectives with their enquiries." She appealed to anyone with information to contact police, stressing the importance of information from the public to help progress the investigation.
Police have maintained a presence at the Wardsborough Road scene while officers carry out forensic and other investigative activity. Detectives are working to establish a timeline of events and to speak with potential witnesses or anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual in the area around the time of the incident.
Local officers urged residents and businesses in the city centre to check any private or doorbell camera footage and to come forward with anything that could assist investigators. Police did not release further details about the victim’s identity or the nature of his injuries while inquiries continue.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Members of the public with information are asked to contact police through the usual non-emergency channels and not to speculate on the circumstances while the inquiry proceeds.
