One critically injured, three others hurt in Birmingham nightclub shooting

One person remains in a critical condition and three others were wounded after a shooting at Mango nightclub in Birmingham city centre early Saturday morning. Four people have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with the incident, which police say occurred around 3:00 a.m.

West Midlands Police said emergency services were called to Mango nightclub on Bristol Street at about 03:00 BST, where officers found three men and a woman with injuries. One man remained in a critical condition and the other three victims were injured but not in a critical state. Four people—three men and a woman—were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with the shooting. The suspects were later found in a car on the M6 in Warwickshire and are in custody.

Bristol Street, one of the main routes into the city centre, was cordoned off by police. It is closed southbound from the Pagoda Island to Bromsgrove Street and is expected to remain closed for some time. The disruption is affecting traffic as investigators begin examining what happened inside the venue.

Acting Chief Inspector Michael Clarke appealed for witnesses and urged anyone with information to contact West Midlands Police. "This happened in a busy nightclub, on one of the main roads out of Birmingham, so it's vital that we hear from anybody who saw what happened or who may have captured it on dashcam as they went past. If you were in the club at the time and saw what happened, or recorded any footage from inside the venue, we need to hear from you urgently." He added that investigators are reviewing CCTV and other evidence as they work to determine a motive and timeline.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police seeking information from anyone who was in the area or who may have captured footage on cameras or mobile devices. No additional details about potential suspects or possible motives have been released, and authorities have not identified a specific timeline for when the street will reopen fully or when further updates are expected.
