One dead, two wounded in Nashua country club wedding shooting; suspect in custody
Witness says the shooter yelled 'Free Palestine' during the chaos; motive under investigation; arraignment set for Monday.

One man was killed and two others were wounded when a gunman opened fire at Sky Meadow Country Club during a wedding reception in Nashua, New Hampshire, on Sept. 20, 2025, authorities said. The suspect, 23-year-old Hunter Nadeau, was detained at the scene and charged with one count of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 59-year-old Steven DeCesare; investigators said additional charges are expected in connection with the wounded victims.
A witness, Tom Bartelson of Pepperell, Massachusetts, told The Associated Press he heard the shooter yell 'Free Palestine' during the chaos and that the shooter appeared to be targeting someone. He said there were about six rounds fired as guests dropped to cover and responders rushed in. Authorities have said there is no known connection between DeCesare and Nadeau.

DeCesare, 59, was identified by authorities as the man who was killed. The two other adults who were wounded were not immediately identified, and officials did not disclose their conditions.
Investigators have not disclosed a motive. Attorney General John M. Formella said the inquiry is ongoing and that additional charges are likely to be filed.
Nadeau is expected to be arraigned Monday in Nashua's Ninth Circuit Court, authorities said.
A Red Cross Disaster Relief van was parked at a hotel serving as a reunification center for families as investigators continued processing the scene and collecting accounts from witnesses.
