A police probe has been launched after a mother and her two young children were allegedly chased with a stick through Asker Meadows in Bridport, Dorset, as they walked to Morrisons on September 3. Dorset Echo reported that one of the youths waved a stick at the family and racially abused them.

Four teenagers are said to have approached the family during the walk, with one allegedly waving a stick and directing racist abuse at them. Officers understand this is the fourth incident in which the woman and her children have suffered racial abuse while making their way to the supermarket. The Bridport Neighbourhood Policing Team is appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident and may hold information that could assist the investigation, quoting police reference number 55250132254.

PC Kirsti Frecknall of the Bridport Neighbourhood Team said: 'This was a terrifying ordeal for the female and her young family, and there is absolutely no place for hate whatsoever. These are awful incidents for anyone to experience, and I would encourage anyone with useful information to please come forward quoting police reference number 55250132254.'
