Police release CCTV of missing High Wycombe woman after abandoned car found

Thames Valley Police have released the last known CCTV image of Fay Barney, 50, who has been missing for four days after abandoning her car in High Wycombe.

Barney was reported missing on Friday morning after leaving her home in the town. She was last seen walking along Totteridge Road at 10:41 a.m. on the same day. Officers later located her vehicle abandoned on Hillary Road, less than a mile from where she was last seen, and say they believe she is travelling on foot.

The CCTV image released by police shows Barney walking along a path beside an unidentified building. She was wearing a grey top with a black cardigan, black trousers and black boots, and carrying a grey-and-cream bag. Barney is described as about 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build, with grey hair that falls just below her shoulders. Police note she has two tattoos on each shoulder depicting a star and a planet, and that she frequents parks in the High Wycombe area.

Inspector Hayley McEvoy, based at High Wycombe police station, said officers were "extremely concerned for Fay's welfare" and had been working to find her since she was reported missing. Thames Valley Police urged anyone who sees Barney or has information about her whereabouts to call 999, quoting reference number 43250468536, or to report information through the force's website.

Officers are continuing inquiries in the local area and have appealed to members of the public to check dashcam and doorbell footage from the time Barney was last seen. No further details about the circumstances of her disappearance have been released.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Thames Valley Police immediately, providing the reference number supplied by investigators.
