Sandbanks crash on millionaires' row leaves teen with life-changing injuries as brothers charged
Two Sandbanks brothers, Harrison Taylor and Henry Taylor, are accused of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a Boxing Day crash that injured their 17-year-old sister, Mia Savage.

A teenage girl was left with life-changing injuries after two Sandbanks brothers driving separate cars crashed while driving around Sandbanks' millionaires' row in Poole Harbour, Dorset, in the early hours of Boxing Day 2023, police said. Mia Savage, then 17, was the front-seat passenger in the Mercedes A200 driven by Harrison Taylor, 19, as his brother Henry Taylor, 21, drove a BMW 135i.
Around 1 a.m. on Banks Road the Mercedes reportedly left the road and struck a gatepost at a high-end mansion, while the BMW collided with the back of the Mercedes and sent it into a garden wall. Fire and rescue services extricated Savage from the wreckage, and she was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.
The two brothers appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court with their parents, and did not enter pleas. The case was deemed too serious to be heard at magistrates’ court and was sent to Bournemouth Crown Court. Prosecutors said Harrison Taylor, who was driving the Mercedes, and Henry Taylor, who was driving the BMW, faced a charge of causing serious injury by dangerous driving for the first time.
David Finney, prosecuting, said the men had been at a single address before the collision and left to drive a loop along Banks Road with another friend in the passenger seat. He said Savage had been left mechanically trapped with her legs in the wreckage, and extraction was required by fire and rescue before she was flown to hospital.
Both brothers were later released on unconditional bail and are due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court next month.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said officers were investigating a serious injury collision in Sandbanks, Poole, and appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
The exclusive Sandbanks peninsula on England’s south coast has long been described as one of the UK’s most affluent enclaves. Seafront homes have commanded prices up to around £13.5 million, and the area has drawn notable residents and visitors, including television chefs and professional football figures.
