Second man dies after Downpatrick crash
Fatalities rise to two as Ballydugan Road collision in Downpatrick is investigated
A second man has died following a two-vehicle crash in County Down last Monday, bringing the Ballydugan Road collision in Downpatrick to two fatalities, police said. The crash involved a silver VW Bora and a grey Toyota Avensis on Ballydugan Road.
Caoimhin Teggart, 28, from the Kilkeel area, died from his injuries in hospital on Monday night, the Police Service of Northern Ireland said.
Ryan Cunningham, 21, died from his injuries in hospital the day after the crash, authorities said. Two women in the Toyota also required hospital treatment, police said.
The investigation is ongoing as officers collect statements and review evidence. Police have appealed for any additional information from those who witnessed the incident on Ballydugan Road in Downpatrick.
