A Sri Lankan man has been charged with indecent exposure and assault after entering the UK illegally, according to Hampshire Constabulary. Sukirthan Thangrasha, 37, of New Road in Portsmouth, has also been charged in connection with a public order incident.

Police linked the charges to three incidents in Southampton and Portsmouth on August 15 and September 15. On August 15, it is alleged that a man indecently exposed himself in Highfield Lane, Southampton, and a 25-year-old man was assaulted in the same area; the victim was not seriously hurt. Thangrasha is charged with indecent exposure and common assault in relation to that incident.

On September 15, a public order incident occurred at Kingston Cemetery near New Road in Portsmouth; no one was hurt. Thangrasha has been charged in relation to that incident, along with an immigration offence for entering the UK illegally.

Thangrasha faces charges of common assault, indecent exposure, a public order offence and entering the UK illegally, and he has been remanded to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court.
