Student found dead inside Ohio Stadium; university says foul play not suspected

The Ohio State University confirmed Friday that a 19-year-old male student was found dead inside Ohio Stadium. The university identified the student as William Meyers, of Fairfield, Connecticut. Officials said foul play is not suspected and there is no ongoing threat to the campus. The cause of death has not been released.

This marks another tragedy to unfold at the storied venue. Last year, a woman died after falling from the upper tier in an apparent suicide. Larissa Brady, 53, was attending her daughter's spring commencement when she reportedly moved to a higher area of the stadium and fell to her death. Police later said Brady had a history of mental health issues and had previously attempted suicide; her husband told investigators she had not been compliant with medications. Authorities said there is no indication of a connection to Meyers' death.

The Buckeyes beat the Ohio Bobcats 37-9 to move to 3-0. The team is on the road this week at the Washington Huskies and is scheduled to return to Ohio Stadium next weekend to host Minnesota.
