Two Good Samaritan Parents Discover Their Teenage Son Dead at E-Bike Crash Scene
On the Gold Coast, a day of adventure ends in tragedy as one teen dies and another fights for recovery; a fundraiser is launched for the families.

Two Good Samaritan parents on Queensland’s Gold Coast were asked to check on a friend’s teenage son after an e-bike crash, but arrived to find their own child dying at the scene. The crash occurred Monday afternoon at the intersection of Tallebudgera Creek Road and Fenton Drive in Tallebudgera. Police say Jydon Meyers, 17, was riding the e-bike with Hudson Gagg, 17, as a passenger when they collided with a Mitsubishi Outlander. Jydon was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition with leg and facial injuries. The Mitsubishi driver, a 65-year-old Robina man, was treated for shock and emotional distress after the crash.
Ms Meyers, the friend who called the Gaggs to check on Jydon, had asked for help around 4 p.m. The Gagg couple arrived at the scene to find the road blocked and Hudson’s body covered by a blue tarpaulin. They later learned that Hudson had died at the scene, with Jydon’s condition remaining serious but stable as investigators began to examine the sequence of events. The two families say the boys had been enjoying a day of adventure together when the crash occurred, and the incident shocked the community.
In the days that followed, the families issued a joint message to the elderly driver involved in the crash, expressing sorrow for the immense burden he now bears and offering words of support and compassion. A GoFundMe page has been launched by Ms Meyers to help cover medical and related costs while Jydon recovers and Hudson’s family grieves.
The scene near the intersection has become a focal point for tributes, with flowers placed at a wooden post and neighbors posting condolences online. Local residents described the two teens as close friends who shared a lifelong bond. Investigators are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the crash, and police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage to contact 131 444.
