Woman fighting for life after being struck during alleged car theft on Gold Coast as police arrest three teenagers
Three teenagers were arrested after police tracked a stolen Mercedes to a motorway interchange near Runaway Bay.

A 54-year-old woman is fighting for her life after being struck by a vehicle during an alleged car theft on the Gold Coast, police said.
Police allege three teenagers entered a home on Morala Avenue in Runaway Bay and stole a black Mercedes, after which the occupants attempted to prevent the theft. It is understood the 54-year-old woman and another woman in her 20s tried to stop the car, which reversed and crashed into an electric gate, blocking the driveway. The teenagers allegedly fled in the stolen Mercedes, striking the 54-year-old as they drove away. Paramedics treated her at the scene before she was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition. The other woman was assessed at the scene but did not require further treatment.
Police tracked the car to the M1 Pacific Motorway Yatala South Interchange, roughly 10km away, and arrested three teenagers at about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. A crime scene has been established on Morala Avenue and investigations are ongoing.
